Welcome to Midland Railway!
Officially known as Midland Railway Historical Association, but more commonly known as Midland Railway. We are an organization that is committed to keeping history alive and promoting the significance of preserving historical locomotives.
Here tourists can enjoy a variety of train excursions that not only provide an entertaining experience, but an educational portion that uncovers the exciting history of train travel.
Midland Railway operates excursion trains on a line originally constructed in 1867 by the Leavenworth, Lawrence and Fort Gibson Railroad. Tourists can enjoy an excursion provided by equipment in the operation of a common carrier demonstration passenger excursion railroad entirely volunteer-staffed and operated.
YOU have the opportunity to take part in one of our most popular excursion rides, including “A Day Out with Thomas” (the Train), our Train Robbery shows, and “The Santa Express” during the winter months. Beyond that, residents and businesses have the opportunity to become members, where they receive the personal chance to preserve history by engaging in special hands-on preservation and restoration projects.
So come see us today!
Here at Midland Railway, we are passionate and excited about our locomotives and their ability to take us back in time. We know you will be too.
So All Aboard!
History is alive and well in Baldwin City and it’s time to experience its magic.
